PISANG BROWNIES – banana brownies

I love me some brownies! Full rich chocolate flavors and chewy goodness. Hmmmm. There’s almost nothing better than that. Almost that is, cause add in some bananas and it just keeps getting better ; )

This recipe is sooooo great for using up old bananas. You know the brown, shrinking, shriveling kind that’s heading towards a slow and ugly death in your fruit bowl. They are awesome to make brownies with. NO waste and you’ve just made your guilty pleasure a tiny tiny bit healthier (not really but just go with it).

These brownies are great as they are but if you want more options drizzle with some caramel to make them even more delish. Or chop up some nuts and toss them in the batter. Not enough chocolate for your liking? Sprinkle some chocolate flakes on top when just out of the oven and it will melt away to give you a yummy chocolate glaze.

Ingredients
50 g butter
100 g sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 bananas
150 g pure chocolate
2 eggs
100 g flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 180 C.

Prepare brownie pan by lining with baking parchment.
Melt the chocolate au bain marie.
Sieve flour, salt and baking powder together.

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together.
Add in bananas and then the melted chocolate.
Next add the eggs one at a time (make sure your batter is no longer hot otherwise the eggs will curdle).
Now add in the flour and mix until well combined.

Pour mixture in prepared brownie pan and spread it out.
Bake for about 30 minutes until done (if you gently move the pan and mixture still jiggles, its not done yet).
