It sounds utterly simple and honestly it really is! Wallowing in your misery is sometimes very necessary. But then there comes a point when you need to pick yourself up and try to move forward. Break the cycle of negativity and do something that makes you happy!
It doesn’t have to be anything big, just a little something to pick you up. Get drunk with your friends. Dance the night away. Buy a bucket of super chocolate fudge brownie ice-cream and binge on it. Wear socks that make you smile every time you look at them. Cuddle with babies. Play with puppies. Do a silly dance in the office. It can be just about anything as long as it makes you smile. Get those endorphin’s going. Happiness induces more happiness. It really does.
And let’s be honest sometimes smashing the s*** out of something can also make you very happy.
The other day I was so upset I sanded the life out of this dresser I’d been meaning to refurbish. It totally left me feeling fine and dandy ’cause not only did it get rid of all my pent up aggression but I also got to tick something off my to-do-list and now I finally have this amazing looking dresser. Yeah!
But seriously if breaking something works for you, do it! Just make sure you’re not making matters worse. Like I don’t know smashing your neighbor’s windows, or breaking your favorite china…
