4. SMILE MORE!

Smile moreIt’s scientifically proven that smiling makes you happier. Simply lifting those corners up will trigger your brain to release endorphins which results in lifting your mood. In fact there are several studies that have proven people who smile more tend to be happier and are better adapt to recover from stress (don’t ask me to name some now as it is already way past midnight and I’ve read some but didn’t bookmark or write it down, so how about you just google it XD).

Back when I was working as a check-in agent, I sometimes used to fake-smile my way through a bad day. Most people didn’t even detect my fakeness and as a friendly disposition is expected and sort of required it made things run much smoother. But after a while my fake smiles turned into genuine ones. And I’d catch myself giggle and even throw in an occasional joke here and there. Turns out it’s also scientifically proven that even fake smiles can have positive physiological and psychological benefits.
Bet you didn’t see that one coming ; ) So if you don’t feel it, fake it. And if you’re lucky happiness will come on it’s own accord!
